CSA CANCELS 2008 ROCKY MOUNTAIN REGIONAL FLY-IN AND FRONT RANGE AIR SHOW
DENVER, Colorado, May 28, 2008 Colorado Sport Aviation, Inc.,
the
501(c)3 Non-Profit Corporation responsible for the Rocky Mountain Regional
Fly-In and Front Range Air Show today announced the cancellation of the
2008 event due to several local and national factors delaying the planning
process.
"We simply ran out of time to properly plan for the kind of quality
event
we wanted in 2008, said Jim Cimiluca, CSA President. Among the
significant factors is a movement toward commercial aviation activity
at
Front Range Airport, whose five-year site agreement with the fly-in ends
in 2008, as well as the continuing progress with the Experimental Aircraft
Association (EAA) toward a long-term sponsorship/participation agreement.
"The entire Board feels the disappointment of those pilots and aviation
enthusiasts who regularly attend the Fly-In and Air Show. We have worked
hard to develop a plan of action for next year and rest assured, we will
have an event in 2009!" said Scott McMillan, CSA's vice president
and
director of the Front Range Air Show.
The Front Range Airport Authority and the Adams County Commissioners
have
been strong supporters of the event and have been pleased with the
attention and recognition both the Fly-In and the Front Range Air Show
have brought to the airport. Likewise, CSA is pleased with their
experiences at Front Range and wishes the airport continued success in
its
future endeavors.
"We look forward to putting on another successful Fly-In and Air
Show for
our Colorado aviation community in 2009," said Cimiluca, adding that
planning is already under way for the 2009 event.
